Due to the few types of boots out there and the rarity of creatures dropping them, they can be very expensive.
Many people use Boots of Haste to increase their walking pace. A favorite method amongst knights is to carry boots with defensive bonus, like Steel Boots, Shadow Boots or Golden Boots and switch them on instead of Boots of Haste when they fight fierce monsters.
The best boots depend on the scenarios they are used in. For example, a knight hunting primarily physical-damaging creatures will use Ice Boots or Shadow Boots if they can afford them, whereas paladins or mages may wish to keep a distance from their opponents and therefore benefit from speed bonus of Boots of Haste or Ice Boots, or depending on the type of damage the creature does, Boots of Fire Walking or Boots of Poison Walking.
The strongest boots are arguably Shadow Boots (Arm: 4, physical +?%) because they greatly reduce physical damage taken. These are a must-have for higher level knights.
If the main goal of the boots is to reduce a certain type of elemental damage, there are 3 strong choices:
- Energy: Golden Boots (Arm: 4, energy +?%)
- Fire: Boots of Fire Walking (Arm: 0, fire +?%)
- Poison (earth): Boots of Poison Walking (Arm: 0, poison +?%)
